Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is going through a very difficult and emotional phase of his personal life these days. After the recent demise of his mother, late Rupi Soren, the Chief Minister is performing mourning and Shraddha rituals as per traditional Santhali customs in his native village Nemra (Ramgarh). However, even in the midst of this immense personal sorrow, he has not let his responsibility as the head of the state and his resolve to serve the public lag behind. Being present at his residence and community building in Nemra, CM Hemant Soren is not only directly communicating with the common people and various social representatives coming from all over the state and listening to their problems, but is also handling the administrative work of the state from the village itself and disposing of the necessary government files rapidly.
There is a lot of bustle these days in the Chief Minister’s native village Nemra located in Gola block of Ramgarh district. While on one hand people and public representatives from every corner of the state are coming to pay tribute to late Rupi Soren and express their deep condolences to the Soren family, on the other hand common villagers and people from far-flung places are meeting the Chief Minister for solutions to their problems. CM Hemant Soren himself is coming to the campus and meeting the people, accepting the memorandums given by the Santhali community and other delegations and giving necessary instructions to the officials for the solution on the spot. Even in this hour of mourning, this direct connection and sensitivity of the Chief Minister of the state towards the common citizens is being greatly appreciated among the public.
Along with following the religious rules and traditions during the Shraddha rituals of the mother, the Chief Minister is in constant touch with the administrative machinery of the state. To ensure that there is no delay in any important scheme, policy decision or administrative process in the state, senior administrative officers are reaching Nemra with necessary government files. The Chief Minister is using the time between the morning and evening rituals to review government files and approve administrative decisions. According to administrative sources, the CM has given clear instructions to the officials that there should not be the slightest hindrance in the pace of any work or development project related to public interest.
In view of the presence of the Chief Minister in Nemra village, administrative meetings and the crowd of thousands of people coming for the upcoming Dashakarma and Shraddha feast, the police administration is on full alert. Police Headquarters has made special deputation of 13 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 42 DSP level officers to maintain security and law and order in Ramgarh and Nemra area. JAP and IRB battalion personnel have been deployed throughout the village and on the surrounding approach roads. Along with this, the local administration is also completing the work of beautification and cleaning of the pond located near the ancestral house, where traditional rituals are to be performed.
