New Delhi: Delhi's new Chief Minister Atishi is taking charge with her cabinet on Monday. Earlier on Saturday, she took oath with her cabinet as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi. Atishi has kept 13 departments with her in the Kejriwal government, which mainly include education, revenue, finance, electricity and PWD.

Atishi can take important decisions on the very first day

Atishi can take some important decisions on the very first day. The atmosphere will remain changed throughout the day. After a year, a Chief Minister will visit the Secretariat. Kejriwal was in jail for five months, even before that he had stopped going to the Secretariat for about seven months. The reason for this was also the renovation work going on in the Chief Minister's office.

LG took oath as eighth Chief Minister

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi was sworn in as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Saturday. After taking the oath, Atishi became more active. On the same day, in a press conference at the Chief Minister's residence, she assured the public that now she will not let the work of the people of Delhi stop.

Atishi is the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi

It is noteworthy that Atishi is the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sheila Dixit of Congress and Sushma Swaraj of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Atishi Azad is the 17th woman to hold the post of Chief Minister in independent India.

Atishi has 13 portfolios

He has kept all the 13 departments with himself including Public Works Department, Electricity, Education, Revenue, Finance, Planning, Services and Water. These are the departments in which the most work has to be done, so he will face challenges in getting the work back on track in the near future. However, among those who took oath in his cabinet, there are also four strong and experienced allies. These include the names of Gopal Roy, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat. Ahlawat, who became MLA for the first time from Sultanpur Majra, is a new face in the Delhi cabinet.
