The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in many states. After the arrival of monsoon, heavy rains are expected in many parts of the country because it is raining but conditions like torrential rain are not visible. Meteorological department forecasts heavy rain

According to the weather department forecast, the entire central India and southern peninsular region from Gujarat to Odisha are likely to be hit by heavy rains till Sunday i.e. July 21. But its effect will not be seen in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain in many areas including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana. Orange alert has been issued in the surrounding states including Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh.

According to the IMD, a low pressure has been forming over the Bay of Bengal since Monday and it intensified into a depression on Tuesday morning and is moving towards west-central Bay of Bengal near Odisha, Puri, approaching Gopalpur and Paradip. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest forecast has said that the system has moved northwestwards. After crossing the Odisha coast near Puri on Saturday morning, it is expected to move west-northwestwards across Odisha-Chhattisgarh.

Where is heavy rain expected?

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many states on Saturday and Sunday. Heavy rains are expected in Telangana, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Gujarat, so people there need to be extra cautious. 'Orange' alert has been issued for Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kutch and Saurashtra, where heavy rains are also expected.
