
New Delhi: Under India’s action on national security risks, a Turkish technology company involved in the Smart City Infrastructure, which has military-grade drones, who was allegedly used in Pakistani attacks, has come under investigation. The incident occurred a few days after the aviation of the aviation service provider Celabi lost its safety approval due to national security concerns.
The firm, Assisgard, are currently working on a project of Rs 230 crore for automated rent collection (AFC) systems in Bhopal and Indore Metro projects. This firm is more than just a technical partner. It also develops Türkiye’s first indigenous armed drone system, Songer.
Reports alleged that drones from across the border were used in retaliation against India during Operation Sindoor. Pakistan had shocked the deadly unmanned air vehicles (about 300–400) in India.
Important sites across the country were targeted in this attack-citizens infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and military establishments from Sir Creek to Leh. Even the prestigious Golden Temple in Amritsar was targeted by Kamikes Drone, but it failed.
Sugar drones can be equipped with electronic war equipment, grenade launchers and machine guns. It is deployed by Turkish army. Its presence in Pakistan’s drone flocks has raised doubts about military cooperation or possible technology transfer.
After this was revealed, Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya ordered an inquiry into the company’s presence in the Indian infrastructure.
He said, “If it is found that the company is directly or indirectly linked to anti -India elements or its products have been used against India’s security, the contract with the company will be terminated.” He further said that “whoever will stand against the sovereignty of India, no matter what it is, will not be given any kind of sympathy or support.”
The development took place on 15 May after canceling the security approval of Celibi Airport Services. Celebi is a Turkish airline that operates ground-handling services at nine major Indian airports.
The Celebi contract was abolished soon after Turkey was supported by Turkey during the Operation Sindoor launched to bring justice to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 innocent tourists were killed in this attack.
Following the Celebi decision, Indian companies took up services at Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and other airports. More than 10,000 employees were fired as part of a large -scale reshuffle. The company has approached the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court pleaded for relief, citing national interest.
