Bhopal, 20 February (HS). The weather seems to be changing rapidly in Madhya Pradesh. The weather will remain bad in the state till 22 February. Due to the impact of Western Disturbance, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in the northern part (Gwalior-Chambal division) till Thursday. During this period, except Indore, many places in Malwa region will remain cloudy and there is a possibility of hailstorm at some places.
Hail may also occur in Bhind, Morena and Sheopur of the state. A warning of rain and thundershowers has been issued in Panna, Chhatarpur, Niwari, Shivpuri, Gwalior and Datia districts. There is a possibility of lightning along with rain in Singrauli, Sidhi, Mauganj, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori and Jabalpur. Among the districts of Chambal division, a warning has been issued for Gwalior, Satna, Rewa, Satna, Anuppur, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari districts. There may be rain and lightning in Singrauli, Sidhi, Mauganj, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori and Jabalpur.
In this regard, meteorologist PK Saha said that at present the trough line from North Karnataka to Southern Vidarbha to Central Chhattisgarh is extended at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level and the Western Disturbance has also become active, due to which the central- Moisture is still continuing in the southern region, the effect of which will be seen at most places in the entire state.
He said that apart from this, weather systems are active at different places and the direction of winds has also become southern and south-eastern. At present, Western Disturbance and cyclonic winds are prevailing in North India. The weather is also changing due to jet stream winds running at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour in the upper troposphere over North and Central India. Due to its effect, there will be cloudy sky in Gwalior-Chambal including the capital Bhopal, in which there may be isolated rain and hailstorm in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal and Sagar divisions till 22 February.
