Varanasi, March 30 (Hindustan Reporter) On Saturday, during the Ganga Cleanliness Fortnight organized by the National Clean Ganga Mission, the Vedpathi Batukas of Maharishi Yogi Vidyashram along with the volunteers of Namami Gange performed shramdaan at Scindia Ghat. Giving the message of 'Clean Pilgrimage Campaign', the Batukas picked up the garbage and threw it in the dustbin.
The Batukas also took a pledge with the national flag and sounded the conch shell for cleanliness. Program coordinator Rajesh Shukla said that the objective of Swachhta Pakhwada is cleanliness in every village, town, religious, tourist and pilgrimage places and public places. Common people, students and social workers are being connected with the Swachh Teerth Abhiyan. He said that public awareness is being increased to clean every Dev temple, hospital, school, road, street and public places and not to use single use plastic. Satyam Pandey, Anant Tiwari, Bhola Chaubey, Mohit Chaubey, Shivam Tiwari, Ashutosh Pandey etc. also participated in the event.
