New Delhi, October 2 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday participated in the program related to 'Swachhta Abhiyan' on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On this day, 10 years ago in 2014, he started 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.

Prime Minister Modi went to Raj Ghat in the morning and paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and later to Vijay Ghat, the tomb of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. After this, he also donated labor in the cleanliness campaign organized in a school in Delhi. The Prime Minister swept the broom with school children.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the completion of 10 years of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and in an ex post said that this campaign is an important collective effort to make India clean and ensure better sanitation facilities. He salutes all those who have worked to make this campaign a success.

On participation in the cleanliness campaign with school children, he said that today he became a part of the cleanliness campaign along with his young friends. He urges everyone to become a part of the campaign related to cleanliness in their surroundings today. This initiative of the people will further strengthen the spirit of 'Clean India'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi then participated in the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 program on the occasion of 155th Gandhi Jayanti at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme of Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 is 'Nature Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta'. During this period he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several sanitation and hygiene projects worth more than Rs 9600 crore. This includes projects under AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0, National Mission for Clean Ganga and Gobardhan Yojana.
