Clean chit to PM Modi from Election Commission, said- 'Mentioning Ram Temple and Kartarpur Corridor is not a violation of MCC'

The Election Commission said that it does not consider the mention of construction of Ram temple as an appeal for votes on the basis of religion. The Election Commission may soon send a reply to the complainant lawyer Anand Jondale. The Election Commission believes that Prime Minister Modi was referring to the achievements of his government and his statement does not promote any kind of bitterness. Jondal had complained to the Election Commission that at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit on April 9, Prime Minister Modi had sought votes in the name of Hindu deities and Hindu temples and holy places of Sikhs and Sikh gurus. He accused Prime Minister Modi of violating the election code of conduct. Not only this, Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury had also complained to the Election Commission, accusing PM Modi of violating the Model Code of Conduct during the election campaign.
