A clash broke out between two communities in Mehkar town of Buldhana district of Maharashtra on Sunday. Meanwhile there was a huge uproar. The incident came to light on November 24 after the results of the assembly elections held on November 23 in the state, where clashes between the two communities turned serious. The mob set fire to six cars. Due to which the police had to use force to disperse the crowd.
Vehicles were set on fire in Mali Peth area of Mehkar and many other areas on Sunday night. During this period, incidents of fighting also took place. Both the groups pelted stones at each other. After this, the police have increased security in these areas and curfew has been imposed. All the borders of Mehkar city have been closed. Police have so far arrested 23 accused in this case. He is being interrogated and other miscreants are also being searched.

Due to this uproar, the market is also closed in Mehkar. Sub-divisional officer Ravindra Jogi has ordered curfew. Therefore, curfew has been imposed in the entire city from Sunday night.
