Naxalite attack in Gadchiroli : There was a clash between police and Naxalites in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, in which five Naxalites are reported to have been killed. Gadchiroli is a big stronghold of Naxalites. A few days ago, the couple carrying a reward of eight lakhs had surrendered before the police.

Couple carrying reward of Rs 8 lakhs surrenders

In fact, two days ago, a Naxalite couple carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh had surrendered before the police in Gadchiroli district. The couple was identified as 37-year-old Asin Rajaram Kumar alias Anil and his 28-year-old wife Anju Sulya Jale alias Sonia. Police said that Anil was a member of the area committee of the Maoist press team in Odisha. Anil, a resident of Narwa city of Haryana, was living in an area near Shimla in Himachal with a fake identity.

Five Naxalites killed in encounter

After this, the police conducted an operation against Naxalites in Gadchiroli on Monday. During this time there was a clash between the police and Naxalites. Five Naxalites have been killed in the firing from both sides. Gadchiroli SP Nilotpal said that five Naxalites were killed in firing on security forces during anti-Naxal operation in Koparshi forest area. At present the search operation is going on in the forest area. The slain Naxalites are being identified.
