Clash between India-Nepal smugglers and SSB, soldiers fired in the air

East Champaran, October 15 (HS). While SSB jawans were trying to stop smuggled goods at Raxaul border in India-Nepal, there was a clash between the jawans and a group of smugglers.

After the clash with the smugglers, the situation worsened to such an extent that the SSB jawans had to open fire in the air in self-defense. One of whose shells fell on the Nepal border. After this, a tense situation arose on the border here for some time. The news of firing on the border spread like wildfire and within some time officials from both India and Nepal reached the border. Regarding the incident, Commander Vikas Kumar of SSB 47th Corps said that two soldiers were deployed near Premnagar.

The smugglers were carrying goods from Nepal, they were stopped by the soldiers. During the stop, some smugglers gathered and started dragging Constable Naveen Kumar towards Nepal. During this, Naveen Kumar was hurt and his uniform was also torn. The same uncontrollable crowd of smugglers attacked the soldiers, due to which the soldiers had to open fire in self-defense. After the incident, officials from both the countries reached the spot and are busy investigating the matter. Nepal Armed Police Force officials are also included in the team of officials.

For a fair investigation of the incident, the CCTV cameras installed at the incident spot are also being examined by the SSB. Local people said that the smugglers were clashing with the SSB personnel when the firing took place. According to the information received, first aid is being given to injured SSB jawans Naveen Kumar and Shripal in Premnagar area. Raxaul DSP Dhirendra Kumar said that senior officers have been informed regarding the incident, necessary action will be taken as per instructions.
