New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh, an exam is being conducted for recruitment to 60,244 constable posts, for which 48.2 lakh people have applied. That is, 80 candidates are in the fray for one constable post. Earlier, when constable recruitment was announced in January 2019, there were 19.38 lakh candidates for 49,568 posts, that is, 39 people had applied for one post.
On one hand, the Yogi government is claiming that the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh is lower than the country, on the other hand, 48 lakh people have applied for only 60 thousand posts, which exposes this claim.
According to the latest report of Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), the unemployment rate across the country is 3.2%. Whereas in Uttar Pradesh this percentage has been claimed to be 2.4%.
In 2019, the Yogi government announced the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers in which 4.10 lakh TET pass candidates applied. In 2018, 14 lakh candidates applied for the recruitment of 1918 posts of Gram Vikas Adhikari.
At the same time, the Staff Selection Commission had organized a recruitment process for 17 thousand posts for various ministries, departments and offices of the central government, in which about 36 lakh candidates have applied. Which is considered to be the highest in the last seven years. These posts include Assistant Section Officer, IT Inspector, Excise Inspector, Auditor, Sub Inspector CBI, Junior Accountant etc. Compared to last year, the number of applicants for these posts has increased by 12 lakh.
Micro plastic in salt and sugar: NGT issues notice to concerned officials
New Delhi: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued notices to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and others in connection with reports that all brands of salt and sugar sold in the country contain microplastics. It is worth noting that a few days ago a report was published in the media claiming that all types of salt and sugar sold in the country contain fine particles of fiber, pellets, film and pieces. The size of the fine particles of this micro plastic is between 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm. The highest amount of microplastic was found in iodized salt. Thin fibers and fine film particles of different colors are found in this type of salt.
