CJI: Chief Justice of the country DY Chandrachud on Sunday shared his memoirs on the resolution of the Ayodhya land dispute. He said that after hearing the verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, I prayed to God. I had full faith that God would find a way. And that's what happened.
He shared many memories with the villagers at a felicitation ceremony organized at his native village Kanhersar in Pune. He said that many times such cases come to us, on the basis of which we are not able to reach any final conclusion. The same happened with us with the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid disputes. Who was in front of me for three months. Regarding this decision, I sat in front of God and prayed. I told God that a proper solution had to be found to this matter.
CJI said that if you have faith then God will always find a way for you. So I pray to God every day.
It is noteworthy that apart from Justice DY Chandrachud, the bench that delivered the verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute in November 2019 included the then Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice SA Bobde and Justice S Abdul Nazeer. After the decision of the five judges, the way has been cleared for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Regarding ownership, the Supreme Court said that a trust will be formed on the disputed land and Ram temple will be constructed, while the government will identify an alternative site and allot five acres of land for the mosque.
After this historic decision of the court, on August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. After this, on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram temple. The CJI visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya on July 7 this year and offered prayers.
