City Museum is going to be built in Bhopal, history of Bhopal will be visible

Bhopal, 21 May (HS). In a historic step, Bhopal is going to get the first city museum of the state. Approval has been received from the Central Government for the establishment of City Museum in a wing of the historic Moti Mahal. Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh. Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla said that this much-awaited museum will showcase the rich heritage of history and culture of the area with the help of modern technology.

Tourists will be exposed to archaeological discoveries, prehistoric rock paintings, stone tools, ancient sculptures, temple remains and a collection of fine art of the Bhopal Nawab period from Bhopal and surrounding areas. Modern technology like audio-visual guides, QR code scanners will be used to create an engaging and informative experience for all age groups.

It is noteworthy that Moti Mahal was built by Sikandar Begum (1844-68), daughter of Qudsia Begum (1819-37), the first female ruler of Bhopal.

Principal Secretary Shukla said that, another museum will be prepared to make people aware of the biography, greatness, bravery, development work done in the field of education and public welfare of the great ruler of Bhopal, Raja Bhoj. It is proposed to build a museum based on the life of Raja Bhoj, the great warrior and Parmar ruler of Central India, in the second wing of Moti Mahal, which will be named Mahapratapi Bhoj Museum. Items related to Raja Bhoj will be displayed here.

Seven new houses of tribal society ready in Tribal Museum

To understand and see the lifestyle of the tribal community closely, seven houses of the seven major tribes of the state, Gond, Bhil, Baiga, Korku, Bharia, Sahariya and Kol respectively, have been built in the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum located in Bhopal. . Tribal families will stay in these residences for three to six months. Later, on rotation basis, other families will come to live in these houses. Through this initiative, the urban society and youth will get an opportunity to know and understand the tribal society of the state. Along with this, they will be able to see the real Madhya Pradesh while living in their actual settlements. In these accommodations, there will also be an opportunity to see the cuisine and art of tribal communities.

Let us tell you that the tribal community has built these houses and developed their architecture according to their specific lifestyle. The responsibility of building these houses was entrusted to him. A wall made by plastering mud on bamboo sack…, installation of Bada Dev outside the house… and a mill of mud and stone in the house. This style of the tribes of Madhya Pradesh, their culture, lifestyle, clothing and food habits will soon be seen in the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum. In these houses, storage sheds, cots, items of daily use and kitchens will be especially visible.
