CISF has selected women willing to serve the country in the Central Armed Police Forces, who currently constitute over 7% of the force. The addition of the Mahila Battalion will encourage more aspiring girls from across the country to join the CISF and serve the country. This will give a new identity to women in CISF.
Preparations have started
CISF Headquarters has started preparations for recruitment, training and location selection for the new battalion headquarters. The training is specifically designed to create an excellent battalion capable of performing multifaceted roles as commandos in VIP security as well as airport security, Delhi Metro Rail duties. On the occasion of 53rd CISF Day, a proposal to raise an all-women battalion in the force was initiated in compliance with the directive of the Hon’ble Union Home Minister.
