Christians attacked in Pakistan on charges of blasphemy, properties set on fire | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends


In neighboring Pakistan's Punjab province, a mob of extremists attacked people of the Christian community accusing them of blasphemy. Two people from the Christian community were injured in the attack in Mujahid Colony of Sargodha district. The situation calmed down after the police arrived on time and controlled the situation.

A mob led by activists of Pakistan's fundamentalist organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan attacked people of the Christian community and set their property on fire. A senior Punjab police official said that police force was sent to disperse the mob. The mob surrounded several houses of the Christian community on the charge of insulting religious texts. After this, the mob started targeting and attacking people. Later their houses and property were burnt.

The officer said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital and police have been deployed to maintain law and order. Another police officer said that some youths in Mujahid Colony alleged that a person had insulted the religious book. After this a crowd gathered.
