Chitta seized from a young man and woman staying in a homestay, arrested | News India

Shimla, September 14 (HS). The police campaign against drug peddlers and chitta mafia is continuing in full swing in the capital Shimla. In this episode, the police have arrested a young man and a woman and recovered 4.870 grams of chitta from their possession. Both the accused were smuggling chitta by taking a room in a homestay.

The young man and woman caught by the police are natives of Rohru subdivision of Shimla district. They used to sell chitta to local youths. Both were on the radar of the police and a trap was laid to catch them. Police raided a homestay in Lambidhar under Dhali police station. Rankaj (31) and 11 others from Rohru were found in room number 102 of the homestay.

Aditi (26) was arrested with 4.870 grams of chitta. Police are now trying to find out where the accused used to procure chitta from.

SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said on Saturday that action is being taken against both the accused by registering a case under the NDPS Act at Dhali police station.

Let us tell you that on Friday late evening, the police raided a rented house in Kotkhai of Upper Shimla and arrested three smugglers with chitta. A woman is also among them. Two accused including the woman are local and one is from Delhi. The Delhi resident youth used to supply chitta to Upper Shimla. From where two accused used to provide chitta to local youths.
