Chitrakoot, 27 June (HS). Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said that the joint team of Kotwali Karvi Police and SOG has solved the case of theft of pipes of Jaljeevan Mission and arrested three people and recovered 100 stolen pipes, DCM and car.
On Thursday, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh met with journalists in Raghav Auditorium of Police Office. He informed that Santosh Kumar Dwivedi, son of Ram Lakhan, of Jagdishganj, Kotwali Karvi, informed that thieves had taken away the pipes kept near Ranan pond of Jal Jeevan Mission, an ambitious scheme of Government of India. Police, after registering a case, along with SOG team, seized 100 cast iron pipes loaded in DCM UP/78DT-9760 from Bhartikuup Police Station, Bundelkhand Expressway and arrested Ajay Singh alias Chhotu, son of late Rakesh Singh, Gudrauli Aung, District Fatehpur, Mahendra Yadav, son of Satyavir Yadav, Ahima, Maharajpur, District Kanpur Nagar and Kamal Kushwaha, son of Ramvilash Kushwaha, Baragaon, Maharajpur, District Kanpur Nagar from Innova car UP/78BW-1990.
100 stolen cast iron pipes worth Rs. 12 lakh, DCM vehicle, Innova car were recovered from their possession. Upon recovery of the goods, charges were increased against the accused. The team included Karvi Kotwal Upendra Pratap Singh, Inspector Rajiv Singh, Inspector Rahul Singh, constable Rahul Dev, Aditya Kumar and SOG team in-charge inspector MP Tripathi, Diwan Jitendra Kushwaha, constable Roshan Singh, Rohit Singh, Ashish Yadav, Golu Bhargav, Raghavendra, Gyanesh Mishra. ASP Chakrapani Tripathi and CO City Rajkamal were present in the press conference.
