China-Taiwan conflict: Tension between China and Taiwan is nothing new, but in recent times this tension has increased again. China has started military exercises near Taiwan, including warships and fighter planes. The purpose of this war exercise named 'Joint Sword-2024B' is to put pressure on Taiwan and demonstrate its military strength. Although China is describing it as a test of their joint operational capabilities, it is actually being seen as an attempt to intimidate Taiwan and suppress its pro-independence views.

China's anger increased after Taiwan President's speech

China's anger has increased after the recent speech of Taiwan President William Lai Ching. President Lai had clearly said that Taiwan and China are different. China has no right to represent Taiwan. This statement was a challenge to China, which considers Taiwan as its own. In response, China immediately activated its military, the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and imposed a blockade on all sides of Taiwan.

In a show of power, China has downed 25 fighter planes and seven warships.

The 'Joint Sword-2024B' military exercise organized by China has seen 25 fighter jets, 7 warships and four other ships in the vicinity of Taiwan. Some of these aircraft crossed Taiwan's central line and entered the southwestern region of Taiwan. This military demonstration by China is another attempt to intimidate Taiwan, because Taiwan considers itself an independent nation and rejects any claims of China.

Other western countries including America support Taiwan

China has become more aggressive due to Taiwan's support from America and other Western countries. This is another example of China's aggressive policy towards Taiwan. Due to which there is a threat to stability and peace in the region. Despite pressure from China, Taiwan has maintained its independence and national identity and its position has been strengthened by international support.
