A team from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports climbed the 20,942 feet high peak in Arunachal Pradesh, which had not been climbed till date. On one hand this peak has not been climbed even once, on the other hand no name has been given to this peak till date.
It is named after the sixth Dalai Lama
For this reason, after the climb, NIMAS decided to name the peak after the sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, who was born in Tawang in 1682. The decision to name the peak after the Sixth Dalai Lama was made to pay tribute to him and celebrate his contributions. NIMAS, located in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh, functions under the Ministry of Defence. This peak is named to pay tribute to the sixth Dalai Lama.
What did China say about Arunachal Pradesh?
On naming the peak of Arunachal Pradesh after the Sixth Dalai Lama, Lin Jian, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of neighboring country China, said, “I don't know what you are talking about. He said, I must say that the area of Zhangnan is the territory of China and it is illegal and invalid for India to establish “Arunachal Pradesh” in the territory of China.

China calls Arunachal Pradesh as Jangnan, apart from this, China has been continuously changing the names of places in Arunachal Pradesh since 2017.
