Nowadays children do not like to have normal home food for lunch. In such a situation, getting up early in the morning and preparing lunch for the children has become a big task for the mother. Every day some new and unique recipes are being discovered for mothers. To solve this problem, we have come up with 3 new recipes. This recipe is everyone's favorite Idli.

Idli is a great lunch option for kids. Idli is not only delicious but also nutritious and can be easily prepared in the morning and packed for lunch. It is also low in calories. Here are 3 idli recipes for you, which can be easily made at home and will be loved by kids too.

Mug Dal Idli

Material

  • Magna lentils
  • Curd
  • Oil
  • Black mustard
  • Cumin
  • Bengal gram lentil
  • Ginger
  • neem
  • finely chopped cashews
  • finely chopped carrots
  • a little asafoetida
  • Green chillies as per taste
  • salt to taste
  • finely chopped green coriander
  • Eno/Baking Soda

How to make Idli

  1. Firstly, soak one cup of moong for 2 hours and then blend it to make a soft paste.
  2. Mix this moong dal paste with half cup thick curd and mix it.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan and add half teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon chana dal, 2 chopped chilies, ginger and 5 cashews. Add chopped carrots and fry.
  4. Mix it in the moong dal paste.
  5. Add a pinch of asafoetida and salt as per taste. Mix everything well.
  6. Before steaming the batter, add 1/2 teaspoon of Eno or baking soda to it.
  7. Spread the paste evenly in the idli cooker and let it steam for 15 minutes on medium flame.

Spicy Tawa Idli

Material

  • Cut the idlis into square pieces
  • finely chopped onion
  • finely chopped tomatoes
  • Ghee/Butter
  • Black mustard seeds
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Pav Bhaji Masala
  • Ginger
  • Lemon/Lime Juice
  • Coriander

How to make spicy Tawa Idli

  1. Heat 2 tbsp butter or ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds and wait till they crackle.
  2. – Now add finely chopped onion, half teaspoon turmeric powder and half teaspoon grated ginger.
  3. Fry the onion until golden.
  4. – Add chopped tomatoes to it and fry till they become soft.
  5. Add half a teaspoon of pav bhaji masala as per taste. Add salt as per requirement.
  6. Place the cut idli cubes in the pan.
  7. Mix well while making sure that the idli pieces do not break. Make sure that the masala is applied properly on the idli pieces.
  8. – After frying for a few minutes, garnish it with lemon juice and coriander.

Instant Oats Rava Idli

Material

  • Instant Oats
  • Soji/Rao
  • Curd
  • Carrot
  • Coriander
  • Ino
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Black mustard
  • neem
  • Asafoetida
  • Green chilly
  • Bengal gram lentil
  • Cashew

How to make Instant Oats Rava Idli

  1. – Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add half a teaspoon of mustard seeds. When it starts crackling, add 1 tablespoon of chana dal to it. Fry it and keep frying till it turns golden. – Now add finely chopped green chilies, neem and one teaspoon of asafoetida and fry for a few seconds. – Turn off the gas and keep it aside.
  2. Roast 1 cup oats in another pan. After roasting, cool the oats and grind them to make a powder.
  3. After this, add roasted oats powder and the already prepared spice mixture in a bowl. Along with this, add grated carrots and chopped fresh coriander.
  4. Add one cup of curd, salt and water in a mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients and make a soft paste. Oats idli batter should be a little looser than the normal idli batter. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, during this time it will thicken. Let the paste sit for some time. – After this, add Eno to it and mix well.
  5. Preheat the idli steamer with water. Grease an idli container with oil and pour the batter in equal amounts. Steam it for 10-15 minutes or till it is cooked completely.
