Dehradun, September 18 (HS). On the second day of Bharat Darshan educational tour program, a group of more than 80 brilliant students reached Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Bhawan. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan welcomed them. The students got a unique experience of understanding the functioning of the Vidhan Sabha.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ritu Khanduri Bhushan gave detailed information to the children about the functions of the Legislative Assembly, legislative processes and the functioning of the House. She explained how various legislative works are done and how the voice of the public is heard in the process of making laws in public interest.
Ritu Khanduri Bhushan told the children that all of you are the future of Uttarakhand. Education is your biggest power, but the learning that you get by travelling cannot be achieved even by education. Whatever you have learnt here, apply it in your life and inspire others too.
The Speaker of the Assembly said that whatever decisions are taken in our House, they are not just written on paper. They represent the real needs and aspirations of our society. When we discuss a bill, we always think about which sections of the society will benefit from it and which will be harmed, so I want you to understand that you are also a part of this process. She said that your experience today is not just an educational tour but it is an important moment to decide the direction of your future.
Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandhari said that such educational tours are informative for the students. Through the tour, the students got a good opportunity to understand the functioning of the Vidhan Sabha, which will increase their social and political knowledge. The aim of the program is to make the students aware and make them active participants in the process of democracy.
