Children launched awareness campaign to avoid mosquito-borne diseases | News India

Korba/Balconagar, August 30, (HS). After the rains, the outbreak of many infectious diseases increases. After the rains, water collects around the house and mosquitoes breed, which increases the risk of diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya. According to the doctor of Balco Hospital, the risk of dengue disease is highest after the rains due to the bite of an infectious mosquito. The doctor said that being careless about this can be fatal.

BALCO is committed to fulfilling the health care needs of the community through its community development programs. The company's Mobile Health Van conducted 12 awareness sessions on malaria, diarrhea and worm prevention. About 5500 people participated in this awareness campaign. The sessions were organized in 12 schools and 18 communities, which included 1485 school students and 4000 community members respectively. In addition, about 600 community members were educated about malaria and diarrhea prevention in 33 Nand Ghars, Anganwadis. Giving information on Friday, Dr. Vivek Sinha, Chief Medical Officer of Balco Hospital, said that dengue is a vector-borne disease that spreads among humans through mosquito bites. When a person is a victim of dengue, symptoms like high fever, headache, body pain, pain in muscles and joints, pain behind the eyes, vomiting and skin rashes start appearing. Dengue can prove fatal if treatment is not received at the right time. When people get dengue, their platelet count decreases rapidly and in many serious cases bleeding can also occur. Consult a doctor for any of these symptoms.
