Mathura, 02 September (HS). In the Highway Thana area, a scooter rider hit a bicycle in the afternoon. Due to which a one year old child jumped from his mother's hands and fell on the road. He stopped breathing in a few moments. After the incident, the family created a ruckus and blocked the highway. It was alleged that a policeman was driving the scooter. The police assured action after investigating the matter and registering a case. After this, the jam was cleared and the body was sent for post-mortem.
Ghanshyam Pachauri, a labourer by profession living in Ganeshra, Highway police station area, was going to get medicine for his one-year old son Krishna by taking his wife Chhaya on the cycle. Krishna was in his mother's lap. According to Chhaya, near the turn of Radhapuram Colony, a speeding scooter rider coming from behind hit the cycle. Due to this, son Krishna jumped from the lap and fell on the road. The scooter rider was caught on the spot. Calling other family members, he was taken to a private hospital located on the highway itself. There, the doctors declared him dead. At this, the scooter rider started running. When efforts were made to catch him, he started boasting that he is a sub-inspector in the police. He will send me to jail. After this, he fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, other family members and relatives came to the hospital after getting the news of Krishna's death. They protested by blocking the road in anger. Meanwhile, the police reached the highway on getting the information. When the police tried to send the body for postmortem, the crowd became furious. They started demanding to immediately register a case and arrest the accused. The ruckus continued for about half an hour.
According to Inspector Anand Kumar Shahi, after explaining the matter to the family, the body was sent for postmortem. He has assured that a case will be registered on the basis of the complaint. Action will be taken after conducting a fair investigation. According to the inspector, it is not clear yet whether the person riding the scooty is a policeman or not. CCTV footage is being scanned. He is being searched.
