Gurugram, June 7 (HS). The issue of cleanliness has now become very important in Gurugram. The government and administration have started working on a large scale to make Gurugram filth free. Even though Gurugram has been winning awards for cleanliness, the condition of filth here is very bad these days. On Sunday, Haryana Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad held a meeting with the citizens of the city at the PWD Rest House. In the meeting, Gurugram Divisional Commissioner RC Bidhan, DC Nishant Kumar Yadav and Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Dr. Narhari Bangar welcomed the Chief Secretary on his arrival in Gurugram.
Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad said that the Haryana government is working with commitment for cleanliness and drainage in the interest of the citizens in Gurugram city. For the convenience of the citizens, the number of sanitation vehicles will be increased for door-to-door garbage collection in the city. Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad, while directing the formation of a three-member committee, said that this committee will set standards for sanitation vehicles for door-to-door garbage collection. Any agency, RWA, institution or individual can provide a vehicle of prescribed capacity along with a driver to the Municipal Corporation for collecting garbage from door to door.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary, taking cognizance of the problem of waterlogging in Gurugram city during rainy season, on the demand of enlightened citizens, sought information from the officials about the arrangements for water drainage and cleaning of drains. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav told that 112 critical waterlogging points have been identified in the district. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Narhari Bangar told that in Gurugram city, four big drains of GMDA and Municipal Corporation and about 600 kilometer long small drains are used for water drainage work. Tenders for cleaning of all drains have been issued and the cleaning work is going on in them.
Instructions for purchasing 40 compactors and suction machines- Jatayu
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary also directed to take forward the process related to purchasing 40 compactors and suction machines-Jatayu on the demand of Municipal Corporation Gurugram. Apart from this, he instructed the experts of cleanliness and environment present in the meeting to prepare a plan to improve the system of Bandhwari garbage disposal plant. He also listened carefully to the suggestions of the people present in the meeting and assured the citizens that he would hold similar online or offline meetings every week.
