Ayodhya, 7 July (HS). A review meeting was organized on Sunday in the Development Authority Auditorium under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the state Manoj Kumar Singh regarding the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra and Shravan Jhula Mela. Director General of Police Uttar Pradesh Prashant Kumar was also present during the review. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed that the district administration and the police department should take special care to ensure that the devotees coming to Ayodhya do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Arrangement for additional 1500 cleaning staff

He said that adequate cleanliness arrangements should be ensured in the Sawan Jhula Mela area and in the Kanwar Yatra routes; for this the government is making arrangement for 1500 additional cleaning staff, and potholes, bad roads, waterlogging on the roads, etc. should also be repaired as early as possible and senior officials should inspect it and ensure that all routes are suitable for pedestrians and this arrangement should be ensured by all district magistrates in Ayodhya as well as in the surrounding districts.

Clean regularly to avoid slipping

He said that due to the rainy season and the Kanwariyas performing Jalabhishek from the Kalash, the possibility of slippery roads, stairs of the temple and around the Shivling increases, for this special attention should be paid to its regular cleaning. The Chief Secretary said that the arrangement of adequate drinking water on the Kanwar Yatra route and in the fair area, clean accessible toilets, arrangement of adequate medicines at medical centres and first aid kit in full quantity, tin shade resting place for the devotees, arrangement of damaged electrical wires and complete lighting and uninterrupted power supply, safe arrangement of parking etc. should be completed on time.

Help centers should be set up at various places

He also said that on the routes of Kanwar Yatra, arrangements of food stalls, drinking water, etc. are made by the devotees for the devotees. It should be ensured that any kind of bhandara, food stall, etc. is not set up on the routes and it should be ensured that they are set up at a proper distance from the highway and footpath. Special attention should be given to destitute cows and they should be sent to destitute shelters so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem. For the convenience of the devotees, extensive arrangements should be made for displaying the numbers of help centers, temporary treatment centers and Mela control room at various places.

Police personnel should behave politely with devotees: Prashant Kumar

While reviewing the security arrangements, Director General of Police Prashant Kumar said that first of all the police personnel should behave politely with the devotees. Along with this, the entire fair area should be monitored by installing CCTV cameras as per the need and barricading etc. should be used to control the crowd. He also said that during the Shravan Jhula Mela and Kanwar Yatra, devotees take bath in the Saryu river and perform Jalabhishek, for this, bathing should be allowed only at the designated bathing places in the Saryu river and the devotees should be protected by installing water barricading and there should be adequate arrangements of divers, water security personnel and steamers on the spot. The two officers also directed that the district administration and the police department should coordinate with each other and do on-site inspection of all the sites 2-3 times before the Kanwar Yatra / Shravan Mela and take stock of the preparations by regularly reviewing other nominated magistrates and implement the diversion plan on time and complete adequate parking arrangements on time.

Divisional Commissioner Ayodhya Gaurav Dayal, Divisional Commissioner Devipatan Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil, Divisional Commissioner Basti Akhilesh Singh, Inspector General of Police Praveen Kumar, District Magistrate Ayodhya Nitish Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajkaran Nayyar, Additional Commissioner Administration Ajay Kant Saini including divisional and district level officers of the concerned departments were present in the review meeting and reviewed through video conferencing with the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of Devipatan, Basti and Ayodhya divisions.

Visited and worshipped Shri Ramlala

The Chief Secretary took stock of the waterlogging situation at Ram Ki Paadi, Saryu Aarti Sthal, Nayaghat, Jalwanpura and directed the officials to take necessary action. Thereafter reached Hanumangarhi where he offered prayers and did a site inspection. After this, he reached Mani Parvat and did a site inspection of the fair area. For this, he reached Shri Ramlala temple, offered prayers and also inspected the ongoing construction work at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi premises and discussed with the officials of the Tirtha Kshetra Nyas Trust.
