Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has adopted an approach to enhance ease of living to improve the living standards and welfare of people living in the towns and cities of the state. For this purpose, the Chief Minister has given in-principle permission to allocate a total of Rs 1664 crore for various 502 development works for the cities of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Gandhinagar under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned a total of Rs. 1 lakh to four municipalities of the state, Bhachau, Dhanera, Dakor and Khed Brahma, for the works of Underground Sewerage Scheme Part-II. In-principle permission has also been given to allocate Rs 67.70 crore.

In this regard, he has approved the proposals submitted to the Chief Minister by the State Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.

On the occasion of completion of fifty years of the establishment of Gujarat, the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started this Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme from 2010 for planned urban development.

This multi-purpose scheme provides funds for reducing traffic congestion in cities and metros, for construction of flyover bridges, for urban mobility, for social and physical infrastructure development works like roadways, drainage, water supply, street lights etc. Allocates. Accordingly, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given in-principle permission to allocate Rs 380 crore to Surat Municipal Corporation for the works of 6 fly overbridges with a view to decongest the city of Surat and reduce the traffic load on the road.

The Chief Minister has allocated Rs. Rs 380 crore has been sanctioned including entry-exit ramp on Surat-Kamaraj Road and flyover bridge at Shyamdham Mandir Junction in East Zone A (Varacha) area, APMC on Surat-Bardoli Road. The Chief Minister has also given in-principle permission to allocate Rs 316 crore from the Swarna Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shahri Vikas Yojana for 46 development works in the outskirts of Ahmedabad metropolis.

These 46 works include drainage, sewage plants, roadways as well as works in West Zone, North Zone and North West Zone as well as South West Zone.

He also allowed Vadodara Municipal Corporation to allocate Rs 68.04 crore for 50 works in outlying areas.

Under these works, water supply, drainage, rain water drainage work, road work, street light work along with various works of West, North and South zone will be done in Vadodara metropolis.

Not only this, Rs 755.96 crore has been allocated to Vadodara Municipal Corporation for water supply, drainage, street lights, building projects, solid waste management and physical infrastructure facilities like sewerage, storm drains, buildings, bridge projects, parks, garden works etc. in various areas. The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 144.43 crore for infrastructure development in Gandhinagar. Out of this amount, Rs 36 crore will be spent on five works of unique identity of the city.

In these works, landscaping, beautification and development of public space will be done on both sides of the road from Koba Circle to Indira Bridge, Koba Circle to Tapovan and Koba Circle to Rakshashakti Circle and from Rakshashakti Circle to Shahpur Circle. Apart from this, beautification work will be done on PDPU-Gift City Road.

Apart from this, grants have also been sanctioned for works including three road works, renovation of six gardens, storm water disposal and drainage lines in areas including Raison, Sargasan.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 97.43 crore for a total of 13 such physical infrastructure works.

Construction of Swarnim Cultural Center at Raison and New Party Plot at Raison for social infrastructure facilities, Anganwadis and PHC in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation area. Rs 11 crore has been sanctioned for the works including renovation and construction works of the centres. Totoya Gandhinagar will be allocated Rs 144.43 crore for 22 works.
