On the occasion of Police Memorial Day organized at Reserve Police Lines on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced 70 percent increase in uniform allowance, 25 percent increase in police accommodation allowance for reservists living in barracks and 25 percent increase in police accommodation allowance for players participating in national and international sports. Announced an increase of Rs 10 crore in the budget of the next financial year for training, diet and other items.

The state government will bear the expenditure of Rs 115 crore on these announcements. Chief Minister Yogi announced a corpus fund of Rs 1,380 crore for the maintenance of multi-storey housing and administrative buildings. At the same time, approval was given to impose a proposed fee on the expenses incurred on the police force in international events, which will be under the Director General of Police. Financial assistance of Rs 36.20 crore given to the dependents of 115 martyred personnel.

During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that financial assistance of Rs 36 crore 20 lakh has been provided to the dependents of 115 martyred police personnel, central paramilitary forces and Indian service personnel of Uttar Pradesh while performing their duties. At the same time, Rs 3 crore 50 lakh was given for the comfort of police personnel posted in the districts, Rs 4 crore for welfare, Rs 30 lakh 56,000 was given for settlement of 2,66 claims related to medical reimbursement of working, retired policemen and their dependents. . Similarly, 12 crore 60 lakh for 3,12 cases related to medical reimbursement of more than 5 lakh, 5 crore 5 lakh as advance loan for the treatment of serious illnesses of 135 police personnel and their dependents, 3 under life insurance scheme, 06 Rs 9 crore eight lakh for assistance to dependents of deceased police personnel, Rs 31 lakh 16 thousand for cashless treatment provided by police personnel and their dependents, Rs 53 lakh 30,000 through education fund to 205 meritorious students of police personnel. More than one thousand policemen were honored with Excellent Service Medal

The Chief Minister said that on Republic and Independence Day, Police Medals were awarded to four officers and employees for distinguished services and 110 for long-term meritorious services by the President. Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India awarded Ati Uttyaksha Seva Medal to 1,013 police personnel and Uttam Seva Medal to 729 personnel. At the same time, Chief Minister's Excellent Service Police Medal was awarded to three gazetted officers and employees. The Director General of Police awarded the Honorarium and Meritorious Service Award to 455 police personnel and the Meritorious Service Award to 455 police personnel. Action taken against 77,811 criminals under Gangster Act

Chief Minister Yogi said that after 2017, more than 1,54,000 recruitments were made on various posts in the police department in the state. This includes more than 22,000 women personnel. More than 1 lakh 41,000 personnel were promoted to various gazetted posts. Currently the recruitment process is going on for more than 60,000 posts.

To establish peace and rule of law in the state, in the last 7 years, 17 soldiers displayed unmatched bravery and attained martyrdom while 1,618 policemen were injured. To tighten the noose on criminals in the state, action was taken against 77,811 and 9,23 accused under the Gangster Act. Through effective advocacy in 68 cases of mafia and criminal gangs, 31 mafia and 66 of their associates were sentenced to life imprisonment. Apart from this, two have been sentenced to death. Illegal property worth Rs 4,57 crore acquired by the mafia and their gang members was confiscated.

He said that the Anti Romeo Squad checked more than 1 crore 2 lakh places from March 22, 2017 to October 2, 2024. Also action was taken against more than three crore 68 lakh persons. During this period, 23,375 cases were registered and legal action was taken against 31 thousand 517 people while more than 1 crore 39 lakh persons were released after giving a warning.

More than one lakh loudspeakers were removed from religious places

The Chief Minister said that under a campaign in the state, more than 1,08,037 loudspeakers were removed from religious places or their sound was controlled as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court. From May 31, 2017 to October 2, 2024, the police created a better security environment through foot patrolling at more than two crore 68 lakh places. Yogi said that various types of complaints have been received from the government regarding the death of officers and employees of the police department while performing their duties. In the same sequence, the family members of those personnel, especially their wives and parents, are not alive. According to the arrangement mentioned in the government order, the problem of not getting the full amount of money to the family of the deceased was stated.

Considering this, it has been decided that by modifying the present government order, the entire amount of ex gratia, estimated to be Rs 25 lakh or Rs 50 lakh, should be made available to the wife, parents or whoever is the legal heir of the deceased.
