Dehradun, 23 May (HS). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to the district administration to speed up relief work in flood-affected Bajro and surrounding areas of Bironkhal block of Pauri district.
The Chief Minister spoke to the District Magistrate on phone late Thursday evening and took detailed information about the relief work. The Chief Minister said that essential facilities like electricity, water, roads should be restored in the affected areas as soon as possible, and the process of giving compensation to the affected should also be expedited.
According to the Additional District Magistrate Pauri, the work of removing debris from houses and cow sheds is being completed rapidly. Drinking water is being supplied through tankers to the villages affected due to damage to drinking water schemes. JCB has been deployed to restore Highway 32, traffic is expected to be restored on this highway by May 25. The work of removing debris from other routes is also going on. On Thursday, food packets and water bottles were distributed to the affected people of Sukai village.
