Only priests can enter the sanctum sanctorum
Let us tell you that only priests can enter the sanctum sanctorum of Ujjain Mahakal temple. Apart from this, no other person is allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum. This rule has been in force for the last one year and action is taken if it is violated. According to the rules, people can have darshan of the Shivalinga installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple by maintaining a distance of 50 feet, but this is the fourth time in the last month that someone has violated this rule. The temple administration has become strict if the rules are not followed despite the order.
