The Chief Minister today transferred an amount of Rs 1650 crore 33 lakh to the accounts of the beneficiaries under various schemes of the Rural Development Department in Patna. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Rs 1650 crore has been transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries today. Due to this, the beneficiaries have started getting immediate benefits.

The Chief Minister said that the benefits of the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme are being given to the extremely poor families traditionally involved in the production and sale of country liquor and toddy and the targeted extremely poor families belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other communities. With this they are becoming self-reliant and self-reliant. Besides, their families are also benefiting from this.

The Chief Minister said that Jeevika Didis are using the capital provided to self-help groups in the form of bank loans in a much better way for their self-employment. Due to this, women have become self-reliant, which has brought a lot of change in the family and society. Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan is being run by the government for self-construction of toilets to get rid of open defecation. We are allocating funds for this. Construction of toilets is very important to eliminate open defecation. He said that the government is determined to provide basic facilities to the homeless and families living in kutcha housing in the state.

During the program, the Chief Minister transferred an amount of Rs 113 crore to 34 thousand beneficiaries for livelihood enhancement under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme. The Chief Minister had launched the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme on August 5, 2018. The benefit of this scheme is being given to extremely poor families traditionally involved in the production and sale of country liquor and toddy and targeted extremely poor families belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other communities.

The Chief Minister transferred Rs 400 crore as community investment fund to 48 thousand 500 self-help groups under Jeevika. Besides, bank loan amount of Rs 537 crore 33 lakh was also transferred to 15 thousand 314 self-help groups under Jeevika through various banks. Under the Jeevika Project, loan capital is provided to self-help groups from banks, which is used by the women members associated with the group for various types of self-employment. In this financial year, bank loans worth Rs 5164 crore have been made available to self-help groups.

The Chief Minister transferred incentive amount of Rs 180 crore to 01 lakh 50 thousand families after construction of toilets under Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan. To solve the problem of open defecation, under the Saat Nishchay 1 scheme, the Samman program of toilet construction house has been included, due to which 1 crore 22 lakh families have constructed toilets in the first phase of Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan (2014-15 to 2019-20). Individual toilet has been self-constructed.

To ensure sustainability of freedom from open defecation in all the villages of the state under the second phase (2020-21 to 2024-25) of Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan to fulfill the goal of 'Clean Village-Prosperous Village' under Seven Nishchay 2. Solid and liquid waste management is being implemented. In the second phase of Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan, so far more than 17 lakh 79 thousand families have self-constructed individual toilets, out of which incentive amount has been paid to 19 lakh 29 thousand beneficiaries.

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, houses were sanctioned to 01 lakh 10 thousand families and an amount of Rs 420 crore was transferred as first installment to 01 lakh 05 thousand beneficiaries. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), a total assistance amount of Rs 1.20 lakh is given in 3 installments depending on the progress of house construction. Of these, 40 percent i.e. Rs 48 thousand is given to the beneficiaries as state share. In the next 100 days, about Rs 2800 crore will be transferred to about 02 lakh 43 thousand families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and for this, under the wage head through MNREGA and under the construction head through Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan.
