5 September, Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached among the flood affected families on Saturday and launched a scathing attack on the previous SP government. He said that the amount of relief material and facilities that flood victims are getting today was not available to them before 2017. At that time children had neither milk nor hot food. Today the victims are getting all these facilities due to the money sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the disaster relief fund. Before 2017, SP used to eat this money and relief material. When a good government comes, it brings good schemes and stops looting.
The Chief Minister, who arrived to distribute relief material to the flood affected families, also talked to the victims and inquired about their condition. He said that the government stands with every affected family in this hour of crisis. Along with the government, party workers are also engaged in relief work.
The Chief Minister said that about 10 years ago, 40 to 45 districts of the state were affected by floods, whereas this time only 14 districts have received water. Varuna River faces the problem of waterlogging every year, but the results of the work done for flood control are now visible.
Yogi said that the results of the development work done in Varanasi in the last nine and a half years under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are visible today. Kashi has now become the new Kashi. Effective work has also been done for flood control with the development of Srikashi Vishwanath Dham, ghats, railway station, bus station, roads and other infrastructure facilities.
The Chief Minister said that 567 families have been affected by the flood. Relief material consisting of 36 items of daily needs including food is being given to the affected families from the Disaster Relief Fund. As per need, the affected families will be kept in relief camps. Medical camps will be set up to prevent the spread of disease after the flood.
He said that a survey is being conducted about the crop loss of farmers. After completion of the survey, compensation will be given to the affected farmers. In case of someone’s death due to disaster, the family will get an assistance of Rs 4 lakh. If the house is damaged, other accommodation will be arranged for the victim’s family.
The Chief Minister said that the double engine government is committed to cooperation at every level, from relief to rehabilitation of flood affected people. No victim family will be left deprived of assistance.
