Shimla, 17 February (HS). Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister, Media, Naresh Chauhan said on Saturday that the second budget presented by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is visionary, innovative and farmer friendly. He said that despite the dire financial conditions, the budget reflects an effort to provide relief to the last person in the queue in the society, taking care of every section of the society.
Describing the budget presented today as farmer-friendly, Naresh Chauhan said that this budget will ensure the prosperity of rural Himachal and farmers and gardeners will benefit from it on a large scale.
He said that in view of the initiative to promote natural farming and link it with self-employment, many measures have been proposed in the third phase of Rajiv Gandhi Natural Farming Start-up Scheme. This is in line with the visionary thinking of the Chief Minister who has started this scheme of Rs 680 crore to connect the youth with employment and self-employment. This will not only increase the income of the farmers but will also encourage the farming class on a large scale towards chemical-free farming.
He said that with the establishment of a Center of Excellence in the horticulture sector at a cost of Rs 12 crore, it will act as a resource center to meet the various needs of horticulturists related to quality, efficiency, tourism and marketing of horticulture products.
Praising the Digital Media Policy-2024 announced in the budget, he said that along with support to regional web portals and channels, it will also ensure wide publicity of the welfare schemes and developmental activities of the state government.
