Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated, expressed commitment to follow the Constitution

Kolkata, 26 November (Hindu). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has praised the Constitution of India in her message on the occasion of Constitution Day today. He said that the basic principles of the Constitution – liberty, equality, justice, fraternity, democracy and secularism – strengthen the country.

He wrote on Twitter, “Today on this Constitution Day, we again feel proud that our Constitution teaches us this value. I congratulate all the countrymen for following these values.” The Chief Minister also said that this day has become even more special on completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution.

Constitution Day is celebrated every year on 26 November. On this day in 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution, which came into effect from 26 January 1950. This day is celebrated to increase awareness among citizens about constitutional values ​​and encourage national unity.

It was announced to be celebrated every year by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 2015. This day reminds citizens of their fundamental rights and duties. This year, special programs are being organized across the country to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called upon the countrymen to uphold the values ​​of the Constitution and strengthen it. He described it as a symbol of India’s unity in diversity and wished all the citizens a happy Constitution Day.
