Jorhat (Assam), 15 February (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today took stock of the progress of work on the huge statue of brave Lachit Borphukan at Tiyak in Jorhat district. Chief Minister Dr. Sarma visited the venue of the rally to be organized in the presence of the Prime Minister at Mailang Meteli.
At the venue, the Chief Minister participated in an awareness meeting with party workers from various levels regarding the rally to be organized in the presence of the Prime Minister. He said that discussions were held on how people from 2,800 booths of Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Charaideo districts would be brought to the meeting.
In the presence of the President of the government ally AGP, he also appealed to the AGP party workers to attend the Prime Minister's rally. The Chief Minister also informed that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Sivasagar Medical College virtually from the said place and will also inaugurate 5 lakh 55 thousand 555 Prime Minister's residences.
