Chief Minister inaugurated the mobile veterinary call center, flagged off 534 vehicles | News India

Patna, 09 September (HS). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the mobile veterinary call center on Monday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off 534 mobile veterinary units (vehicles).

The objective of all these 534 mobile veterinary units (vehicles) and mobile veterinary call centers is to provide veterinary facilities at the doorstep of livestock owners (doorstep veterinary service). Keeping in view the difficulties faced by livestock owners in bringing their sick animals to the veterinary hospital, arrangements have been made to operate one mobile veterinary unit for each of the 534 blocks of the state.

The operation of mobile veterinary units will provide relief to livestock owners from the difficulties in bringing sick animals from remote areas to the veterinary hospital, the time and expense spent in bringing sick animals to the veterinary hospital will be saved. Along with this, quick and quality treatment of unhealthy animals will be possible. The health and productivity of animals will be improved. In case of spread of infectious disease among animals, quick investigation and effective control of the disease can also be done and the departmental schemes will be publicized among livestock owners.

The mobile veterinary unit is a well-equipped vehicle with GPS facility, which will have facilities for identification of animal diseases, veterinary treatment and minor surgery, audio-visual publicity, necessary medicines for animal treatment, artificial insemination etc. One veterinary doctor, one veterinary assistant and one driver-cum-attendant have been arranged in the mobile veterinary unit. The mobile veterinary unit will be operated from 9 am to 5 pm on every working day.

For the convenience of livestock farmers, a call center has been set up at the state headquarters level in the campus of Animal Health and Production Institute, Patna. Four experienced veterinarians and twelve call center executives have been arranged in the call center. A mobile app has also been developed. Livestock farmers can contact for veterinary services by downloading the said app on their mobile.

On this occasion, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Ministry Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Renu Devi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar and other senior officials of the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department were present.
