Patna, 06 March (HS). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various schemes of the Industries Department and Building Construction Department through video conferencing. Besides, the first installment of grant was also distributed to the selected beneficiaries under Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme.
During the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 81 schemes of the Building Construction Department and Industry Department at a cost of approximately Rs 02 thousand 509 crore 75 lakh. He symbolically presented a check of Rs 50,000 each to 5 beneficiaries. In the programme, Rs 200 crore 51 lakh was transferred online as the first installment to 40 thousand 102 beneficiaries selected under Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme.
The foundation stone of a total of 75 schemes of the Industries Department was laid and inaugurated at a cost of Rs 1 thousand 68 crore. Under Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme, grant at the rate of Rs 50 thousand per beneficiary was provided as first installment to 40 thousand 102 beneficiaries. The Industries Department inaugurated 33 projects to be constructed at a cost of Rs 447 crore and laid the foundation stone of 42 projects to be constructed at a cost of Rs 621 crore.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the E-Radiation Center and Export Pack House in Bihta at a cost of Rs 59 crore, under which facilities for radiation and packing of agricultural products will be available, which will benefit the farmers. Plug and play sheds of 24 lakh square feet were inaugurated in Patna, Muzaffarpur, West Champaran and Bhagalpur districts.
Under the Industries Department, the foundation stone of the scheme related to storm water drainage system, bituminous road and street lighting was laid in Fatuha Industrial Area of Patna district, Purnia Industrial Area of Purnia district and Barari Industrial Area of Bhagalpur district at a cost of Rs 106 crore.
The first installment amount was distributed to the beneficiaries under Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme. A total of 40 thousand 102 beneficiaries have been selected for the financial year 2023-24. All the selected beneficiaries were given a check of Rs 50 thousand as the first installment.
In the programme, a total of 06 schemes of the Building Construction Department at a cost of Rs 1 thousand 441 crore 75 lakh were inaugurated and the foundation stone was laid. Under this, 05 schemes were inaugurated at a cost of Rs 1 thousand 374 crore 83 lakh and the foundation stone of one scheme was laid at a cost of Rs 66 crore 92 lakh.
During the program, under the MLC Housing Scheme, construction work of 75 houses is being done on 19 acres of land at a cost of Rs 645 crore, out of which 55 houses have been inaugurated in the year 2019. . 18 houses were inaugurated today. A large shelter home has been constructed in Patna at Bihta in Patna district on 05 acres of land at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
Under the CM's Child Shelter Development Scheme, this complex has hostels, common facility centre, staff quarters and playgrounds for safe accommodation of boys and girls. Besides, a multi-storey building has been constructed to house the state government officials. The foundation stone of the construction work of 752 flats for the residence of state government officials in Gardnibagh, Patna was laid by the Chief Minister at a cost of Rs 443 crore 62 lakh. In the first phase, 48 E-type houses were inaugurated by the Chief Minister in the year 2023. In today's program, 24 E-type flats and 128 D-type flats – a total of 152 – were inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
During the program, the foundation stone of the building of Engineering University, Patna was laid on 5 acres of land under the Building Construction Department at a cost of Rs 66 crore 92 lakh. Under this, a 5-storey main building, guest house and caretaker's residence will be constructed.
