Chief Minister inaugurated 22 new branches of State Cooperative Bank

Shimla, March 6 (Hindus). Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated 22 new branches of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank. He also launched two new schemes of the bank 'One Time Settlement Scheme' and 'Loan Scheme for Developing High Density Apple Orchards'. Also started the online link for the recruitment of 232 clerical posts in the bank through IBPS.

Chief Minister Sukhu said that in the state, Samarkot, Jharag/Nakradi, Parala, Dhamandri, Mehndali, Jarol, Janehdghat, Upper Kathu, Khatnol, Nihri, Chai Ka Dora, Syanj, Bharadi, Mandap, Dhar-Tottoh, Lohat, Awah, Chhatradi, Halah, Launched new branches of Co-operative Bank of Haripurdhar, Timbi and Chango. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank has an important role in the development of the state. The Bank's Sapno Ka Sanchay-Deposit Linked Savings Deposit Scheme and Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme have yielded meaningful results. So far, loans worth more than Rs 35 crore have been provided to 16836 women borrowers under the Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that through the One Time Resolution Scheme, the defaulter loan holders of the bank, who due to some reasons could not repay their due loans on time and whose loan accounts closed on December 31, 2023, will be declared NPA by the bank. All such defaulting loan holders, who have been registered under this category, will be eligible to settle the repayment of their loans under this scheme by making a one-time settlement with the bank. The Chief Minister said that under the loan scheme for developing high density apple orchards, a loan of up to Rs 8 lakh per bigha will be given to the gardeners of the state for the promotion of new technology in high density apple plantation and production of new varieties. Under this scheme, the loan holder will be provided a maximum loan of Rs 50 lakh.

On this occasion, Bank Chairman Devindra Shyam expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and said that with the opening of new branches, the facility of banking services will be available to all sections of the society at their doorstep. He said that the one-time resolution scheme will provide delinquent loan holders an opportunity to improve their financial portfolio. The borrower who pays his loan settlement amount in lump sum will also be given 0.5 additional interest rebate as an incentive. Managing Director of the bank, Shravan Manta gave information about various activities of the bank.
