Guwahati, July 15 (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today took forward the continuous journey of providing one lakh government jobs by handing over appointment letters to 41 candidates at a ceremony held at Lok Seva Bhavan. Out of these, 22 candidates have been appointed under compassionate appointment under the Directorate of Higher Education, a total of 12 candidates including 11 assistant professors and 1 librarian in engineering colleges of the state under the Directorate of Technical Education and seven candidates have been appointed to the post of lecturer of DIET.
The state government has again taken steps to recruit one thousand youths in government jobs on August 15. The present state government has adopted an ambitious plan to recruit a total of 1.5 lakh youths in government jobs in a tenure of five years.
The Chief Minister extended his hearty congratulations and best wishes to each candidate who received the appointment letter today. The Chief Minister called upon the recruits and especially those working in engineering colleges to contribute in creating a 'start up' atmosphere in educational institutions.
