Chief Minister gave strict instructions to tighten the law and order and effectively control crime | News India

Dehradun, 02 September (HS). The Chief Minister has given strict instructions to the officers to make the law and order of the state strong and to effectively control the crimes. Along with this, the Chief Minister has expressed displeasure over the crimes including robbery at jewellery shops in the state.

On Monday, at the Chief Minister's residence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thoroughly reviewed the law and order situation of the state with senior officials of the government and Commissioners, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police including Director General of Police through video conferencing.

For effective control of crime, the Chief Minister directed to focus on mutual coordination among officers, prompt communication of information, making the intelligence system effective and ensuring night patrolling.

The Chief Minister, while instructing the Senior Superintendents of Police to brief on any criminal incident in time, also asked them to immediately provide the information to the Director General of Information, so that the actual situation of the incidents reaches the general public through the media. He asked to maintain constant coordination with the media. He asked to focus on making the Gaura Shakti app more active to control crimes against women. He said that despite having laws in cases of religious conversion, love jihad etc., not stopping it is a matter of concern, special attention should be paid to this. He also said that there is a need to think about where and why crimes are increasing in the state. He also gave instructions to focus on coordination between all the concerned agencies to solve the problem of demographic change.

The Chief Minister said that continuous and intensive checking campaigns should be conducted in the border areas so that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand does not become a refuge for criminals from other states. It should be ensured that the fear of police is instilled in the minds of criminals and the trust of the common man in the police is increased. While giving instructions to pay attention to the verification of tenants and outsiders, he also asked to pay attention to how children studying in madrasas and other educational institutions are being made citizens of the state.

While directing the formation of an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of SP City in the case of robbery at a jewellery shop in Haridwar, the Chief Minister said that action should be taken against whoever is responsible in this case.

He also stressed on making efforts to make Uttarakhand a drug-free state by 2025 and focusing on community policing. The Chief Minister also said that there is a need to think about what can be done better to control crime in the state. He also stressed on prompt redressal of complaints and simple behaviour of officers with subordinates and staying away from regionalism. The Chief Minister has given instructions to make public awareness and training programmes effective for effective prevention of cyber crime.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, A.D.G. A.P. Anshuman, IG K.S. Nagnyal, Special Secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Riddhim Agarwal, Additional Secretary Nivedita Kukreti, through video conferencing Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar, Commissioner Kumaon, all District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police etc. were present in the meeting.
