Raipur, September 2 (HS). Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off the Poshan Rath operated by Women and Child Development on the occasion of Teeja Pora Tihar organized at his residence on Monday. This Suposhan Rath will travel to various villages of the state and spread the message of nutrition to the people. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MP Brijmohan Agarwal, Kiran Dev, MLAs Rajesh Munat, Anuj Sharma, Khuswant Saheb, Secretary Women and Child Development Smt. Shammi Abidi, Director Tulika Prajapati and a large number of public representatives and women were present.
Films focusing on nutrition will be screened in this chariot. Audio and video messages related to nutrition and health will be broadcast in various districts of the state through the nutrition chariot. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that we are determined to realize the concept of a healthy and well-nourished Chhattisgarh. Serious efforts are being made by the Chhattisgarh government to face challenges like malnutrition and anemia. Health and nutrition related services are being provided to pregnant women, lactating women, children between 0 to 06 years and adolescent girls through more than 52 thousand Anganwadi centers. To achieve the goal of nutrition, positive behavior change at the community, family and individual level is also very important.
Chief Minister Sai said that Poshan Maah is being organized from 01 September to 30 September 2024 to widely disseminate messages related to health, nutrition and hygiene to the community, so that various components of the community can participate in the journey of nutrition as a mass movement. The Chief Minister said that during the Poshan Maah this year, focus is being laid on anemia growth monitoring, supplementary nutrition diet, nutrition as well as education, use of technology for quality service delivery and holistic nutrition.
Chief Minister Sai has called upon the people's representatives of the state, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, women's self-help groups, intellectuals, students, representatives of public and private sector bodies and the entire public to participate in the activities of the Poshan Maah with full enthusiasm and energy. Taking a pledge to make Chhattisgarh free from malnutrition and anemia, adopt the right nutritional behavior yourself and inspire others as well. The Chief Minister said that with the combined efforts of all of us, the foundation of a strong Chhattisgarh will be laid, the future of our state will improve and be well-nourished.
