Lucknow, 11 October (Hindu). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) festival.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the festival of Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of religion over unrighteousness, good over evil and truth over untruth. On this day Lord Shri Ram had killed Ravana. This festival is celebrated with traditional devotion and enthusiasm all over India. Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram was dedicated to truth, dignity, justice, peace, charity and public welfare.

The Chief Minister said that the life of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, a symbol of moral, human and social values, provides inspiration to follow the right path and live an ideal life. The festival of Vijayadashami gives us the message of achieving our goals with hope, enthusiasm and energy.

On the day of Vijayadashami, Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram had won over Ravana, synonymous with terror, injustice and unrighteousness. Vijayadashami is a festival of Shakti worship. Worshiping Jagadamba during the nine days of Navratri infuses power among the devotees. Since the time of Lord Shri Ram, this day symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
