According to news agency PTI, on Tuesday, during a satsang organized in Sikandrarao area of Hathras district, a stampede broke out when the followers going to see preacher Bhole Baba slipped in the mud. This information was given by an eyewitness.
A woman who had come from Jaipur to attend the satsang with her family told at the Etah postmortem house that after the satsang was over, people suddenly started coming out, which led to a stampede. Another eyewitness said, 'We left before the Sadbhavana program was over. The program started at 11.30 am. This incident happened due to pushing. According to the people present at the spot, there were very few arrangements there.
Eyewitness Sonu Kumar said, “The water tanks and nearby drains were filled with rainwater. Due to which the floor became completely slippery.” Sonu said that when the Guru left after three and a half hours, the devotees suddenly ran after him to touch his feet. As soon as his car left, pilgrims were seen bowing down to the ground. Sonu said that when they came back, they all fell on each other due to the slippery floor. He said that there was a crowd of about 10 thousand people there.
