Chief Electoral Officer made a surprise visit to Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh, August 1 (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar inspected various polling stations in Hazaribagh on Thursday. During today's inspection program under the second brief revision program 2024, he inspected the remote Babhani, Devkuli, Dadighaghar and Municipal Corporation polling stations of Ichak block.

The Chief Electoral Officer mainly reviewed the activities being done to delete the names of dead and transferred voters and to add the names of new eligible voters. After this, a review meeting was held with the District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner and all AROs and AEROs.

In the meeting, he directed to carry out the house to house survey program seriously and monitor the works closely under the Second Brief Revision Program 2024. He asked to be satisfied by rechecking (super checking) the works done by BLO and supervisor so that any kind of error can be corrected in time.

He gave clear instructions to update the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Death) list. He asked to take the process of adding names of the missed voters very seriously. He also reviewed the polling stations with low voting and gave necessary directions to correct the voter list of the concerned polling station, motivate voters to vote, review the special camp to be organized on 3rd and 4th August, and paste stickers during the house to house survey.

On the spot, he enquired about the reasons behind the proposal to change the building of polling centres and gave necessary instructions.

He said that assembly elections will be held in only four states across India and it will be closely monitored by the Election Commission, New Delhi, hence clarity, transparency and seriousness are necessary at every point.
