Lohardaga, May 4 (Hindustan Reporter) Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar inspected various polling stations located in Mandar of 12-Lohardaga Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday regarding the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections and the first phase of Jharkhand state voting to be held on May 13.
The Chief Electoral Officer inspected the polling stations with low voting percentage during the last elections and observed the preparations for voting. He inspected the polling stations located at Government Upgraded Middle School, Budhakhukra, Government Upgraded High School, Mahuvajadi, Government Primary School, Dumri and Government Upgraded Middle School, Cambo and Government Upgraded Middle School, Gurgurjadi. During the inspection, he expressed his displeasure over the laxity of the BLO supervisor in the election work and warned him to work properly.
Ravi Kumar gave clear instructions to the BLOs engaged in election work to complete the distribution of voter information slips in two days. Also asked the BLO supervisor to complete this work soon. He directed the officials associated with the election work to complete the election related preparations on time and to immediately ensure minimum basic facilities like pure drinking water, clean toilets and running water at the polling stations. Apart from this, the Absent, Shift and Death (ASD) list and the list related to polling station awareness group were observed.
Ravi Kumar took stock of the seating arrangements, electricity connections, lights and fans etc. in the polling booth for the presiding officer and other election personnel. Also, information was taken about the age group of volunteers to be used on the day of voting and necessary guidelines were given. During the inspection, he also interacted with the villagers and appealed to them to vote.
CEO also reached Budha Khukhra branch post office
During the inspection of polling stations, the Chief Electoral Officer made a surprise inspection of the branch post office of Budha Khukhra and took information related to the voter cards coming there. He said that whatever Voter ID cards have been received in the post office, ensure their immediate distribution.
During the inspection by the Chief Electoral Officer, Ranchi's Deputy Development Commissioner, Deputy Election Officer, Block Development Officer, BLO Supervisor and other officials related to election work were present.
