Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar stuck overnight due to bad weather in Pithoragarh, being taken to Dehradun by helicopter.

Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), 17 October (HIST). Finally, after a night-long struggle, the country's Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar could be rescued this morning. It is said that he spent the night warming himself by a fire in Ralam village. The rescue team could reach him after midnight. The district administration is now making arrangements to send them to Dehradun by helicopter.

Pithoragarh District Magistrate Vinod Goswami told 'Hindusthan Samachar' when contacted on mobile phone that he was brought to Munsiyari tehsil headquarters by helicopter at 6:30 in the morning. Everyone is safe. Now arrangements are being made to send them to Dehradun by another helicopter. It has been told that due to bad weather, main election candidate Rajeev Kumar's helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Ralam village on Wednesday. Uttarakhand's Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande was also with him in the helicopter. His helicopter was heading towards Milam.
