Chidambaram put forward five demands from the government including legal guarantee of MSP

New Delhi, July 24 (HS). Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Wednesday put forward five budget related demands including MSP with legal guarantee from the Central Government. He said that these demands are important and the opposition INDI alliance will continue to struggle for this.

P. Chidambaram, who was the Finance Minister in the UPA government, today demanded in the Rajya Sabha that the minimum wage for all types of employment should be Rs 400 per day. He said that the government should give MSP to farmers with a legal guarantee. He demanded that interest on the outstanding amount for the education loan installments given till March 2024 should be waived.

Chidambaram demanded the complete cancellation of the Agniveer scheme. He also demanded the abolition of NEET. He said that if some states want to retain it, then all other states that do not want NEET should get exemption.

He said that if the government does not accept these demands, then these demands will be raised from all over the country. These demands will keep rising until the government fulfills these demands.
