Chhindwara: Coca-Cola agency running without license sealed

Chhindwara, June 20 (HS). Under the campaign to free from adulteration, Food Safety Officer Gopesh Mishra on Thursday sealed the Coca-Cola agency firm “Parvati Traders” operating in front of Kundipura police station due to lack of food license. The important thing is that the Jabalpur-based Coca-Cola manufacturing firm “Udaipur Beverages Limited” is also supplying cold drinks to such unlicensed firm Parvati Traders. Whereas in the Food Safety and Standards Regulations 2011, licensing and registration of food traders, it is clearly written at number 14 in the conditions of license that any manufacturing firm will do food business only with food licensed food traders and will also keep its record.

In connection with an ongoing investigation regarding the sale of expired cold drinks, this firm was inspected by Food Safety Officer Mishra on Thursday. During this investigation, it was revealed that this firm is selling cold drinks of Coca-Cola Company as a distributor firm without any valid food license and documents related to being a distributor have also been found. That is why this firm has been sealed and the director Sachin Kharpuse has been directed to do food business only after obtaining the food license. Food business cannot be done until the license is obtained. Also, in this case, action will be taken against the Coca-Cola products manufacturing firm “Udaipur Beverages Limited” Jabalpur under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.
