During the tenure of the previous Congress government, the General Manager (Finance) of Chhattisgarh Pharmaceutical Corporation (CGMSC) will be investigated for the payment made to a company by ignoring the letter of the Central Income Tax Department. A complaint has been received in this matter from Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Manoj Pingwa. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department has given instructions to take strict action against the responsible officials.
Additional Chief Secretary Pinguwa said that despite the written instructions of the Central Income Tax Department, the General Manager (Finance) of CGMSC has given permission to the pharmaceutical company M/s ANG Life Science India Ltd. Paid for. However, the General Manager (Finance) has stated that he has not received any letter from the Income Tax Department regarding the payment. Whereas during the tenure of the previous government, the General Manager (Finance) is said to have ignored the Income Tax Department's letter to benefit the pharmaceutical company.
In this regard, complainant Ram Avtar Kedia said that on June 30, 2023, at 5:05 pm, a request was made by the company ANG Life Science India by mail regarding the closure of its Punjab National Bank account and payment into the Canara Bank account. . Even after receiving the company's mail at 5:05 in the evening, changes were made in the records of CGMSC and payment was also made. Whereas on the same day the General Manager (Finance) has admitted to receiving the letter from the Income Tax Department on the same day. This and the mail from the Income Tax Department should be examined by technical officers.
It is noteworthy that the Central Income Tax Department wrote a letter to CGMSC on June 16, 2023, against the pharmaceutical company M/s ANG Life Science India Ltd. Was ordered to stop the payment of Rs 2 crore 78 lakh. M/s ANG Life Science India Ltd. Company had not paid TDS amounting to Rs 12.30 crore for several years. Despite this, payment was made to the company by CGMSC, for the recovery of which a notice was issued to CGMSC by the Income Tax Department under Section 226(3).
The Additional Secretary of the department has said in this matter that the entire matter will be re-investigated. The mail received from the Income Tax Department will be investigated by a technical officer and strict action will be taken against the responsible officer.
