Chhattisgarh: 10 Naxalites including woman Naxalite killed in encounter, cache of weapons recovered

Bijapur, 02 April (HS). 10 Naxalites, including a woman Naxalite, were killed in an encounter that took place on Tuesday morning in the forest of village Lendra under Gangalur police station area of ​​the district. The soldiers involved in the encounter have also claimed that a large number of Naxalites were injured. Bastar IG Sundarraj P. confirmed the encounter and said that all the soldiers involved in the encounter are safe.

During the search operation in the area after the encounter, security personnel found bodies of 10 Naxalites. Automatic weapons like BGL launcher, LMG and a large quantity of ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site.

According to the information received from the police, the joint force of DRG, STF, Cobra and CRPF had left for Naxal eradication operation. On the morning of 02 April, security forces personnel reached the forests of Korcholi-Lendra during the searching operation. Meanwhile, Naxalites of Gangalur Area Committee started firing on the soldiers. The Naxalites ran away in the retaliatory firing of the soldiers.

After the encounter was over, security forces took stock of the incident site. During this period, dead bodies of a total of 10 Naxalites along with a female Naxalite and a cache of modern weapons were recovered.
